Orchard is God’s ministry, and He arranges the ministers as He wants. If Orchard is where God wants you, He has a role for you to play here.
All people are religious – everyone believes something. Whatever we believe determines what we value. And our values drive what we do. Read on below to find out more about our beliefs, values, and what to expect at Orchard.
Knowing and Loving God and Making God’s Love Known to Others
Making Disciples who Make Disciples
Our church holds to the Baptist Faith and Message as a concise and accurate description of what we believe. Within our church there is diversity on theological positions not outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message. You can read the entire Baptist Faith and Message here.
There are countless actions we do to show and tell Christ to the world and each other. We can’t cover all of them here. In all of them though, the church is for discipleship to Jesus.
How will we do what we believe, and do so together? These values keep us on course.
Demonstrate an Open & Honest Life
Our aim is to be known authentically by others. If we are having a great day, then we tell people we are having a great day. If it has been a rough day, then we want to be honest about that.
Ephesians 4:25 Proverbs 12:19
Maintain Clear Relationships
Our assumption is that we will sin and offend one another. Our commitment is to maintain clear relationships by asking for forgiveness and seeking reconciliation when we sin against others.
Put The Success of Others Above Your Own
Let’s face it… we can all be selfish at times. Our aim is to become more like Jesus. He laid down his life for others. We know we won’t do this perfectly but our aim is to continually grow in thinking of the needs of others.
Philippians 2:3-4 John 13:14-15
Submit to Leadership Within Biblical Limits
This does not mean that we follow leaders blindly. We do want to work to make our leader’s jobs a joy and not a burden. One way to do this is by asking the question, “What can I do to make my leader successful?”
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 Hebrews 13:17
Support Orchard Community Church Financially
Most people get a little antsy when a church mentions money. Take a breath, there will be no arm twisting here. Your heart will always follow your investment. Supporting your church financially is how your heart for the church grows.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 1 Timothy 5:17-18
Give and Receive Spiritual Correction
We all get off track from time to time. We have blindspots in our lives. God has given us friends in the church to gently help others get back on track and stay on track in their life with God.
Mathew 18:15 Hebrews 3:12-13 & 10:24-25 Ephesians 4:15
Meet Our Pastor
Message From Our Pastor Ben
Hi, I’m Ben Crow and I’ve served as the pastor of Orchard Community Church since we planted. This happened in the fall of 2016, when River Community Church sent us out. We love River, and always will.
We believe the church is for discipleship to Jesus. Therefore that is what we offer to the world: biblical discipleship.
We believe and therefore preach the gospel. The whole service is intended to deepen our commitment to and affection for Christ.
Regular participation in corporate worship is an essential piece of the Christian life. However, the rest of our days each week are also shaping who we are becoming. That’s one of many reasons we strongly believe in small groups and intentional friendships which occur throughout the week. The accountability and encouragement that can be found in them has life-changing power as God’s Spirit points us to Christ and we continue to apply the gospel.
See the small groups page – that might be the 1st step for you to experience God at work in His people. God wants you to know and love Him, and to make His love known to others.
We’re an elder-led church. Jordan Lemmons, Jon Belsan, and Jerod Hatch serve with me on our elder team.
The following members help execute particular aspects of our ministry as deacons: Joshua Ruby (finances); Rebecca Hatch (women’s ministry); Hannah Belsan, Kayla Lemmons, Bekah Wedel (with Orchard Kids).
Message From Ben
My name is Ben Crow and I’m the pastor of Orchard Community Church. In August of 2016, we were sent off by River Community Church as their most recent church plant. We love River, and always will.
We desire to see people changed as we know and love Christ, and also as we make His love known. We believe that every person has been made for relationship – with God, and with other people. It is in the context of relationships that we find the fulfillment of living out our divine purpose.
We believe and therefore preach the gospel. The whole service is intended to deepen our affection for Christ and commitment to Him.
Regular participation in corporate worship is an essential piece of the Christian life. However, the rest of our days each week are also shaping who we are becoming. That’s why we strongly believe in small groups and intentional friendships which occur throughout the week. The accountability and encouragement that can be found in them has life-changing power.
See the small groups page – that might be the 1st step for you to experience God at work in His people. I believe that God wants to use you – and that you will find meaning and hope in Him.
