Learn About Orchard

All people are religious – everyone believes something. Whatever we believe determines what we value. And our values drive what we do. Read on below to find out more about our beliefs, values, and what to expect at Orchard.

Our Vision

Knowing and Loving God and Making God’s Love Known to Others

Our Mission

Making Disciples who Make Disciples

Beliefs

Our church holds to the Baptist Faith and Message as a concise and accurate description of what we believe. Within our church there is diversity on theological positions not outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message. You can read the entireBaptist Faith and Message here.

Actions

There are countless actions we do to show and tell Christ to the world and each other.  We can’t cover all of them here. In all of them though, the church is for discipleship to Jesus.

Our Values

Values

How will we do what we believe, and do so together? These values keep us on course.

Message From Our Pastor Ben

My name is Ben Crow (MDiv, Midwestern Seminary) and I’m the founding pastor of Orchard Community Church. In the fall of 2016, we were sent off by River Community Church as their most recent church plant. We love River, and always will.

We desire to see people changed as we know and love God, and also as we make His love known. We believe that every person has been made for relationship – with God, and with other people. It is in the context of relationships that we find the fulfillment of living out God’s purposes for our lives.

We believe and therefore preach the gospel. The whole service is intended to deepen our affection for Christ and commitment to Him.

Regular participation in corporate worship is an essential piece of the Christian life. However, the rest of our days each week are also shaping who we are becoming. That’s why we strongly believe in small groups and intentional friendships which occur throughout the week. The accountability and encouragement that can be found in them has life-changing power as God’s Spirit points us to Christ and we continue to apply the gospel.

See the small groups page – that might be the 1st step for you to experience God at work in His people. God wants you to know and love Him, and to make His love known to others through you.

What To Expect At Orchard

Our gathered worship is an hour long and includes: a time singing, a biblical message with life applications, and prayer.
The children (nursery-5th grade) gather downstairs to hear the good news of Jesus in a way they can understand and enjoy more fully.
I promise we won’t single you out or make you feel uncomfortable. It is pretty natural to feel awkward in a new place, around new people, but our people will seek to make you feel as welcome as we possibly can. There are a lot of young adults and families in our congregation, but we desire (and are praying for) retired folks, college students, and whoever God chooses to bring.

If you don’t sing or pray – don’t worry, nobody will look at you funny! If you decide to visit us, please dress in a way that you feel comfortable. There’s no dress code, so you’ll fit right in.
